Product Information: Plicast® LWI 30 is a very high temperature insulating castable that is based on a light weight alumino-silicate aggregate system. With a service limit of 3000°F, and good mechanical strength, it suitable for use as either backup insulating component in high temperature applications, or as a primary lining material in a less severe environment. A low iron content makes it ideal for use in reducing combustion applications. Conforms to ASTM classification C401 Class U. Product advantages include:
- 50+% alumina content
- Low iron content <1% and low alkali content <0.5%
- Medium density ~95 pcf
- Good mechanical strength
- Good volume stability and linear shrinkage
- Low thermal conductivity
